these guys make the IG remotely playable in the first dawn of war game. never liked IG in tabletop. using these guys to leap-frog your troops across the map. takes forever, but minimizes losses, especially if you use them as the back leg (providing 'covering fire' of sorts) for snipers, Ogren and other heavier infantry. Main thing DoW1 suffers from is tiny, tiny maps. the maps are beautifully detailed, but those details keep any movement from being smooth.
Anyway, this piece is great! i really like the colors and also the authenticity of their expression. the gunner in particular looks pretty without-hope.
Yeah but the Ultramarine pretty much won the war for them afterwards....so in the end you had an Ultramarine with badass shades smoking a cigar, while some Imperial Guardsman grumbling and serving him huge carvings of meat.
"Okay the manual said to put the belt feed on this but why does it feel like it should be on the other side...." "Trooper! Just pick a bloody side or I'm going to hit you with one of these heavy ammo hoppers which I'm very sure are heavy as hell." "I'm going.....just need to put this scope I stole from some Tau on..."
They have a Heavy Bolter from IKEA? whit flat-pack sandbags and all? I think they need a cup of coffee. For this seems like the sort of Monday where they get up to late. Spill theyr coffee and now stands on some emperor forsaken battlefield trying to set togheter the IKEA Heavy Bolter.
